Kh. Farhad Hossain, the esteemed Chairman of FISHTECH (BD) LIMITED, is a distinguished economist whose vision has been pivotal to our company’s success. Born in 1960 into a respected Muslim family in Rajshahi, Mr. Hossain received his foundational education at Govt. Laboratory High School and New Govt. Degree College, Rajshahi. He further honed his intellectual prowess by completing both his graduation and post-graduation from the Department of Economics at the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh.

Upon the completion of his studies, Mr. Kh. Farhad Hossain embarked on his entrepreneurial journey, cultivating a diverse business background that spans development works, Information Technology, and import-export. Driven by a deep-seated belief in guiding farmers toward the most effective practices, he passionately dedicated himself to training entrepreneurs for successful operations within the agricultural sector, particularly in fish and poultry farming.

Mr. Kh. Farhad Hossain’s commitment to continuous learning and global engagement is evident through his participation in numerous seminars and workshops, both domestically and internationally. His extensive travels for business have taken him to India, Nepal, Thailand, China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, and the USA, broadening his perspective and enriching his leadership.

As the Managing Director of FISHTECH (BD) LIMITED, Md. Ataul Karim Bhuiyan brings invaluable firsthand experience and a profound understanding of the challenges faced by fish and shrimp farmers across Bangladesh. Having worked directly in the field, he intimately knows and feels their problems, which has shaped his vision for the company.

Born in 1975 into a respected Muslim family in Brahmanbaria, Mr. Ataul Karim pursued his early education in Brahmanbaria and Dhaka Cantonment. He then achieved his graduation and post-graduation from the prestigious Institute of Marine Science & Fisheries at the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, specializing in Marine Science with a major in Aquaculture.

Immediately after completing his studies, Mr. Ataul Karim embarked on his career as the Head of the Aquaculture Division in a renowned Animal Health Products Marketing company. This role led him to extensive travels through Bangladesh’s rich aquaculture regions, where he immersed himself in the lives of farmers, diligently seeking to understand their problems and devise practical solutions.

Through these experiences, he recognized a critical need for a “ONE STOP SOLUTION” for fish and shrimp farmers—a platform where they could readily access expert technical assistance, dedicated services, and world-class aquaculture products at affordable prices. This realization, shared with Mr. Hossain and Mr. Sarker, became the driving force behind the establishment of FISHTECH.

Mr. Ataul Karim’s commitment to advancing aquaculture is further demonstrated by his participation in numerous international shrimp and fish farming seminars, where he continually seeks to learn and implement improved farming systems. His pursuit of knowledge has taken him to countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, India, Myanmar, Singapore, the Netherlands, and Belgium.

FISHTECH’s constant endeavor, under Mr. Ataul Karim’s leadership is to conduct its activities in a manner that significantly contributes to optimizing fish and shrimp production through eco-friendly aquaculture practices, thereby making a vital contribution to the national economy.

Mohammed Tarique Sarker, Director of Research & Development at FISHTECH (BD) LIMITED, brings a wealth of expertise and a passion for sustainable aquaculture. Born in Comilla in 1971, he received his education at Comilla Cantonment High School and Comilla Victoria Government College before earning his graduation and post-graduation degrees in Marine Science from Chittagong University.

Before co-founding FISHTECH (BD) Limited, Mr. Mohammed Tarique Sarker gained invaluable hands-on experience working on various fish and shrimp projects, as well as with Quality Feeds Ltd. His deep understanding of the industry led him to provide expert consultancy to numerous feed mills on crucial aspects like feed formulation, nutrition, and quality control. Today, he continues to offer advisory services to a number of prominent feed mills, hatcheries, and large-scale fish farms, sharing his extensive knowledge.

Mr. Mohammed Tarique Sarker is a dedicated advocate for continuous learning and knowledge dissemination. He has actively participated in various international seminars, training programs, and workshops both in Bangladesh and abroad. His commitment to empowering the aquaculture community is further highlighted by his collaborative efforts with organizations like USAID/PRICE, INNOVATION, KATALYST, and HELVETAS Swiss International, where he has provided training for fish farmers and input sellers on effective fish farming management.

Beyond his practical contributions, Mohammed Tarique Sarker is a prolific writer, regularly contributing articles on environment, fisheries, and education to daily and weekly newspapers, as well as quarterly science journals in Bangladesh. He is also the esteemed author of five books on fish culture in Bengali: Shrimp Diseases Management, Pangus Culture Management, Carp Culture Management, Thai Koi Culture Management, and Sing-Magur Culture Management. Additionally, he has authored two comprehensive manuals: Profitable Fish Culture Management and Fish Diseases Treatment & its Prevention.

To continually enhance his practical experience and training, Mr. Mohammed Tarique Sarker has traveled extensively, visiting countries such as India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, UAE, KSA, Vietnam, China, Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the USA. His diverse experiences and profound insights make him a driving force behind FISHTECH’s commitment to innovation and excellence in aquaculture.
